Research Center of Biosciences & Biotechnology (RCBB)

The Research Center of Science and Biotechnology was established at the University of Tabriz in 2019 to target research in the fields of biology and biotechnology. The center is operate under the supervision of Vice Chancellor for Research, University of Tabriz and located in the Kharazmi building. The Strategic Council of the Center is the legislative and management arm of the Center.

Goals and Objectives:

1. Determining the research areas in the field of biosciences and biotechnology which are essential for university, industry and society
2. Coordinating the facilities of Tabriz University in the field of biosciences and biotechnology with industry and society
3. Conducting basic, applied and developmental researches in order to fulfill part of the scientific and industrial needs of the country and its development and expansion
4. Enabling the implementation of national and transnational projects and establishing international relations under the framework laws and regulations of the country
5. Focusing and directing research topics in fields related to bioscience and biotechnology in the province and northwest of the country and establishing coordination with other scientific and research centers in the country
6. Provide the necessary research facilities for affiliated researchers
7. Establishment of comprehensive and specialized research laboratories
8. Cooperation with the University of Tabriz’s faculties, centers of higher education and research institutes and other institutions by providing various facilities for the implementation of projects related to master's and doctoral dissertations of affiliated members of the center
9. Cooperation with scientific, research and industrial centers inside and outside the country in order to raise the level of research through the exchange of researchers and the implementation of joint projects outside the university.
10. Organizing seminars, conferences and scientific workshops at national and international level.
11. Providing financial support for research projects selected by the Center's Research Council to fulfill the needs of industry and society
12. Establishment of the Biotechnology Award at the provincial and extra-provincial levels
